Rachel Zoll Schumacher | Graphic Designer & Illustrator
I have always loved to draw.
As a child, I amused myself through my doodles. Seventh grade social studies was bearable if I could draw cartoons of my teachers. Buried under a few pages of notes, discreetly hidden in my three ring binder were – what I thought to be – witty and hilarious masterpieces. I remember Mrs. Bellahusen with her wild salt & pepper hair and cat-eye glasses, wearing a charcoal grey woolen shift over a black turtleneck. Her quirky characteristics and monotone voice were captured in a few cartoons, deftly drawn, in the back of my notebook.
I studied at the Art Institute of Boston/Lesley College, with concentrations in painting, drawing and illustration. After graduating in 1985 I worked in the screen printing industry designing T-shirts. As time went on I was a graphic designer for a variety of other companies. In 2001, I became a freelance graphic designer and illustrator after working fifteen years in the industry.
I am proficient in Adobe Creative Suite’s Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and other programs including Quark Express, Coreldraw, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Excel.
P.S. I am also a painter and an artisan. I currently sell my wares at A Little Something in South Berwick, Maine, as well as online.
apologies to Mrs. Bellahusan
let’s work together…
